Recruitment & Advertising Database (RAD)
The Recruitment and Advertising Database (RAD) is a tool that supports front-end recruitment efforts and engages departments to be an active partner in the posting and advertising processes for academic and support staff competitions.
RAD allows departments to:
- retain more control over the posting process from initiation to reposting;
- have quicker turnaround times (24-48 hours);
- ensure increased accuracy and job postings tailored to the department;
- have more knowledge of immigration advertising requirements for consideration of foreign applications;
- deal with less paper and reduce forms, signature retrieval and paperwork;
- and access an electronic record of historical posting and advertising information.
RAD is linked to the Job Evaluation & Tracking System (JETS) where position evaluations and job fact sheets reside; to the U of A Careers Website; and to DDB Advertising Agency. The user-friendly RAD system allows continuity and accuracy in posting information and external advertising. Attendees will learn how to complete job posting requests using RAD and understand the external advertising process including immigration, university policies, procedures and related legislation.
This course is intended for university staff who are involved in assisting with or managing academic and/or support staff recruitment processes. Human Resources recommends that at least one manager and one support staff from the department attend the training. This is to ensure that internal control processes and adequate staff coverage are in place.
